Since its inception GIHM is consistently leaving its mark as a premier center of
learning in the tourism and hospitality Industry. To add further glory to its name and
creating awareness for the benefit of the students an annual food festival “Gourmet” is
held every year.
The food festival is actively organised by the students of GIHM. The
festival showcases multi cuisine food & beverage stalls serving Garhwali & Kumaoni cuisine,
Punjabi, Kashmiri Indian curry, Indian Tandoor, Halwai & Bakery, Chinese, Italian, mocktails and beverages.

Chef Competition
The Institute actively promotes and encourages one to participate in inter catering
meets within and outside the state of Uttarakhand to display their talents, internal assessments
through a period of four years for students to be worthily rewarded with the title of :
- Chef of the year
- Talent of the year chef
- Young chef of the year.
Cultural Activities
The students regularly participate in various cultural programme organised by the Department
of Tourism and Technical University.
Sports
Annual sports week is held every year where interhouse competitions are held where certificates
and trophies are awarded to the champions. The students also participate in inter institute / college
competitions held under Uttarakhand Technical University. The institute has facilities for both indoor
& Outdoor sports-table Tennis Room, Carom Room, Chess, Indoor Badminton Court and open Volly Ball Courts.
Lecture/Seminar –Presentation
Staying ahead to imbibe the latest and the best off the industry leading personality from
organizations are invited to present various opportunities in the area of tourism and hospitality
